Treasure Trove - Second Hand Clothing
We welcome donations of clothing, furniture etc. for our Treasure Trove shop situated next to our home. The children are allowed first option to choose what they need and the rest will be sold or given to other NGO's and families in need. All our items are new and/or gently used and we promise you will get great quality at bargain prices. The money generated at the shop pays for electricity, water, telephone internet and stipends for staff.
Once a term Workshops are held at Rainbow of Hope for local & international volunteers and host families. The workshop is entitled KEEPING IT REAL!
Here prospective volunteers, adoptive & foster parents are aquainted with what they are committing to.
We also facilitate Support Groups for those parents who have already fostered and/or adopted as well as a Support
Group for parents with children with Foetal Alcohol Syndrome. These workshops serve as a platform for encouragement and sharing of challenges and triumphs when caring for your children.
See our EVENTS for more information.
The children are taught beading and jewellery making and these goods are sold at markets and entrepeneurs day where they can earn extra pocket money. Depending on the demand, we also offer these classes to interested adults. For parents with children here we offer a unique and individually tailored program which will enable parents to improve their circumstances and take their child back to a safe and happy home. Sadly, this programme is hardly ever used by parents.
